Bryant Evolution Extreme Heat Pumps: Top Tier Central AC & Heating

August 10, 2022 by Kai Haskins

Like their ductless counterparts, a central heat pump uses cutting edge, variable speed refrigeration technology to heat or cool your entire home. However, unlike the more common ductless units, these systems have the capacity to be installed with existing ductwork.

Is a Bryant Evolution Series Heat Pump right for me?

When it comes to heating larger residential or commercial spaces, Bryant Evolution Extreme heat pumps can’t be beat. With up to 5 tons of capacity and variable speed control, these systems will keep you or your clients comfortable, while keeping your costs as low as the temperatures in a Massachusetts winter.

No existing ductwork? No problem! Check out our ductless heat pump models from Mitsubishi and Fujitsu.

Energy Efficiency & BTU Sizing:

The Bryant Evolution Extreme Variable-Speed 284A comes in capacities of 24,000, 36,000, 48,000 or 60,000 BTUs. They boast SEER ratings of up to 24 and an industry leading HSPF of up to 13. Recognized as the Most Efficient of ENERGY STAR® 2020, the Evolution Extreme model combines intelligent system control with variable-speed operation to provide premium comfort and energy savings. They are also Hybrid Heat compatible, meaning that they can be combined with a gas furnace for optimal winter efficiency.

In addition, these units utilize Puron as their refrigerant, which does not deplete the ozone layer and is thus considered more environmentally friendly than older alternatives, without decreasing efficiency.

Humidity Control:

The Bryant Evolution Extreme series features precise control so you can set you desired temperature and humidity. This means not only will Bryant Evolution heat pumps keep your indoor space at your exact desired temperature year-round, they can also control humidity in the air during those hot summer months. This leads to a more comfortable, happier living and working environment.

Maintenance:

Want to know when a filter change or other routine maintenance is needed? Simply, take a look at the intuitive system display and it will provide you with status updates and let you know what maintenance needs to be done. You can even connect to the heat pump remotely via the internet to monitor and control the system. Powerful and high-tech yet intuitive and easy to use, the Evolution Extreme Heat Pump System sets the bar for ducted heat pump systems in 2020.

Warranty:

All models come with a 10-year warranty on parts, ensuring that you are covered in case of failure.

Efficiently Heating Your Home – Pros and Cons of Heat Pumps vs Gas Furnaces

August 9, 2022 by Kai Haskins

Leaves are falling and so is the temperature outside. As homeowners prepare to settle in for the long Massachusetts winter, more and more are considering making the switch to an all-electric Ductless Heat Pump system.

WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF A HEAT PUMP VS A GAS FURNACE?

Heat Pump systems operate on electricity—and they are ideal for homes in moderate or extreme climates.

Ductless Heat Pumps:

  • Efficiency – Electric heat pumps are far more energy efficient compared to a gas furnaces.
  • Installation Costs – Heat pump systems usually cost less than the installation of a furnace because furnaces require an extensive ventilation system, which can increase the cost in a home not already outfitted for this need. The heat pumps we specialize in are ductless, so no need for extra construction work on your home!
  • Operating Costs – In most of America, electricity rates are lower than natural gas. Therefore a heat pump system will cost less to operate than a gas fired furnace.
  • Quietness – While furnaces do not always make a tremendous amount of noise, ductless heat pumps operate whisper quiet – so you’ll barely notice they’re there.
  • Safety – There is no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning while using a heat pump, and they run on electricity which is typically considered a safer source of heat.
  • Multi-Purpose: Ductless Heat Pumps work for both heating and cooling, so can eliminate the need for both a furnace, as well as window AC units in the summer.
  • Size – A heat pump system requires an inoor and outdoor component, while a gas fired furnace just has an indoor component. The two units of a ductless heat pump work in unison to read the temperature outside compared to inside and adjust according to the temperature you set on your thermostat (and we recommend a programmable one).

Gas fired furnaces have been used for decades to warm homes, and the technology is antiquated. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of home heating equipment include:

Gas Furnaces

  • Lifespan – A gas fired furnace is typically considered to have a slightly longer lifespan (avg 15 years) than a heat pump, although our heat pumps are backed by a 12 year manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Less maintenance – Since a gas operated furnace is only used for a few months out of each year, the maintenance requirements are less than those for a heat pump, but a heat pump provides all year-long use and is a fantastic option over a window AC for energy efficiency.
  • Safety – A gas leak could result in an explosion. Since heat pumps run on electricity, this is not a concern.
  • Cleanliness – The products of gas combustion can result in dirtier air and poor indoor air quality in the home.

With many years of experience in the heating and cooling service industry, we are proud to have helped thousands of homeowners achieve and maintain comfort with new heat pump heating system. Please call or email us at any time to see if an energy efficient heat pump fits your lifestyle.

Let’s Talk Savings: Mass Save HEAT Loan

August 9, 2022 by Kai Haskins

Did you know that the Mass Save® Home Energy Services Program offers 0% financing on several home upgrades? Learn more about these upgrades and how you qualify and save below.

What is the Mass Save HEAT loan?

The Mass Save Program works with sponsors and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources to increase energy efficiency for residents and businesses. One service in particular that Mass Save offers is the HEAT Loan. With the Mass Save HEAT Loan, homeowners can qualify for a loan of up to $25,000 with 0% financing and terms up to seven years.

What does it include? The Mass Save Heat Loan covers the following services:

  • Heating: Heating System Replacement
  • Cooling: Ductless Heat Pumps & Central Air
  • Insulation: Insulation & Replacement Windows

For a limited time… an expanded offer

Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) provides 0% Loan Offers and Grants and Expanded 2-4 Family Loans (above $25,000 and up to $50,000) with a loan term of up to seven years.

How does the HEAT loan work?

After you complete a No-Cost Home Energy Assessment through the Mass Save Program, one of our specialists will recommend how to proceed. If you qualify for energy efficiency improvements to your home, our specialist will give you HEAT Loan folder with the application form. Our specialists will evaluate your needs, whether you qualify for 0% financing, and recommend the specific improvements you can take advantage of.

After you’ve decided on the improvements with our specialist, you’ll receive a HEAT Loan Authorization Form that you’ll need to take to an “authorized lender” (bank or credit union). Once you take the form to the bank, sign some forms, and get approved by your lender, you’ll receive a check for the Mass Save services. We’ll set up an appointment and do all the home improvements from there and you just pass over the check for the completed work.

How can you benefit from a HEAT loan?

Let’s look at some numbers. Air conditioning and heating account for 44% of energy bills. However, by installing a ductless mini-split heat pump, you can save hundreds to thousands. Why? Ductless heat pumps are up 330% more efficient than window AC units or central AC, and are comparable in cost to install as central air. Plus, not only do they provide cooling at better efficiency than anything else on the market – they also heat your home!

Most of our customers who take advantage of the HEAT Loan for ductless systems are cash flow positive and more comfortable from month one. That means that their energy savings are greater than their 0% heat loan payments, leaving more money in their pockets on a month-to-month basis.

Want another steal? The Mass Save HEAT Loan covers insulation and air sealing work with 0% financing. The EPA estimates that you could save 20% on your energy bills by upgrading your insulation. Also, you can save even more with 0% financing towards the mitigation of identified barriers preventing insulation installation, like knob and tube wiring, vermiculite, asbestos, and mold abatement (see table below). So if you’ve been putting off doing insulation work due to one of the following reasons – it may be time to reconsider.

BARRIERALLOWABLE FINANCING
Knob and tube wiringUp to $10,000
VermiculiteUp to $10,000
Asbestos (for heating improvements)Up to $4,000
Mold abatementUp to $4,000
