What I Talked About on the “Right Here in Mass” Podcast
I recently sat down with Right Here in Mass to chat about something I never imagined I’d be doing a few years ago—running an HVAC and plumbing company. We covered a lot: where I came from, how I ended up at Endless Energy, and what I’ve learned about growing a team, building trust with homeowners, and navigating the ever-changing world of rebates, regulations, and water quality.
If you missed the episode, here’s a quick rundown of what we talked about—and why it matters if you live in Massachusetts.
From Theater to Thermostats
My background’s not what you’d expect. Before Endless Energy, I worked in education, software, even theater and film. But what’s always been true is this: I like helping organizations grow—especially when there’s a strong foundation to build on.
After a career pivot, a pandemic, and some serious reflection, I landed in the home services world. Through a business broker, I found Endless Energy—an established company with a great reputation, especially around heat pumps and Mass Save work. I knew this was something I could grow, put my own stamp on, and—most importantly—do some real good.
So What Do We Actually Do?
Endless Energy isn’t just HVAC anymore. We’ve expanded a lot over the past few years. Here’s what we offer now:
Plumbing and water heater replacement
Electrical work and panel upgrades
What makes us different? We’re one of the few companies that can handle everything under one roof—so homeowners don’t have to juggle contractors or wonder who’s responsible for what.
Mass Save: Use It While You’ve Got It
Mass Save is one of the best programs out there—but it’s changing. Right now, you can get up to $10,000 for whole-home heat pump installs and 0% financing through the HEAT Loan. But starting at the end of this year, those rebates are project to start dropping. Additionally we have the 25C Federal Tax credit valued at up to $2,000 now going away at the end of 2025.
If you’re thinking about replacing your HVAC system, don’t wait. The earlier in this 3-year cycle you act, the more you’ll save.
We help homeowners navigate this process every day—handling paperwork, inspections, and making sure you actually get the incentives you’re entitled to.
Growing Fast—Then Hitting Pause
When I started, we had around 48 employees. At our peak in Fall 2024, we hit over 100. That kind of growth is exciting… and very hard to manage and maintain values and quality. One thing I’ve learned the tough way? Bigger isn’t always better if it comes at the expense of quality.
We made the decision to slow down a bit (we now operate with around 80-85 employees as a result), focus on training, onboarding, and building a culture where everyone we send into a home represents the values we stand for. For us, it’s not just about installing systems—it’s about making people feel taken care of.
What’s Coming Next: Water, Fresh Air & Smart Growth
Heat pumps are still the core of what we do, but plumbing and water purification are growing fast. More people are learning about PFAS and other contaminants—and they’re asking real questions about what’s coming out of their taps.
We’re also preparing for changes to Massachusetts building codes, especially around fresh air ventilation. Homes are getting tighter, and that’s great for efficiency—but it also means we need to bring in outside air properly. We’re already training our team to handle this.
People Matter More Than Anything
One thing I’m proud of is the team we’ve built—and how we approach the trades. If someone joins us, we’re not just teaching them how to install a heat pump. We’re helping them build a career. And if one of our techs leaves to start their own company someday? Honestly, I’ll be proud of that too.
There’s a real shortage of skilled tradespeople in this country. We’re doing our part to change that by training, mentoring, and creating real paths for growth.
Final Thought: Do Your Homework
If you’re a homeowner thinking about replacing your HVAC system, upgrading your plumbing, or improving your water, take time to get educated. Not every system is right for every house. Our team is here to guide you through your options—not push a one-size-fits-all solution.
And if you’ve never heard of Mass Save before now—go check it out. You’re probably already paying into the program on your utility bill. You might as well get your money’s worth.
