How much does a home energy assessment cost through the Mass Save® program?

A Home Energy Assessment is completely free, either virtually or in person, thanks to the Mass Save program, which is funded through a charge on your monthly energy bill. Participation in the program is at no additional cost to you. There’s no catch and no obligation.

How Long Are Home Energy Assessments?

In most cases, the assessment should take no more than two to three hours to complete, depending on the size of your home. During that time, an Energy Specialist will walk throughout your home and make recommendations for weatherization, including insulation and air-sealing opportunities. They’ll also recommend HVAC and water heating upgrades and may also provide some instant energy-saving measures, like smart thermostats, low-flow showerheads, aerators, and energy-saving power strips.

Am I required to do everything recommended during the Home Energy Assessment?

Who should be home during a Home Energy assessment?

The homeowner/decision maker and/or the person who knows the most about the home is recommended and encouraged to be present throughout the duration of the Home Energy Assessment.
