Residential Electrical Inspections in Massachusetts

$19.99 Whole-Home Electrical System Check

Catch Small Electrical Problems Before They Turn Into Big Repairs

Most electrical failures don’t happen out of nowhere.

They usually start with something small — a loose connection in an electrical panel, an outlet beginning to wear out, or a circuit carrying more load than it should. Left alone, those little issues can eventually turn into tripped breakers, damaged appliances, or even electrical hazards in your home.

That’s why we created our $19.99 Electrical System Check. For less than the cost of lunch, one of our licensed technicians will give your home’s electrical system a professional visual inspection to spot early warning signs before they become bigger problems.

What is an Electrical Inspection?

A residential electrical inspection is a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s electrical system to ensure it is safe, up to code, and operating efficiently. Our inspections go beyond surface-level checks—we assess the full system, including wiring, panels, outlets, and safety components, to uncover hidden risks and recommend practical solutions.

When Should You Get an Electrical Inspection?

Many homeowners wait until there’s a problem—but inspections are most valuable before issues arise.

You should consider scheduling an electrical inspection if:

  • You’re buying or selling a home
  • Your home is 20+ years old
  • You’re planning a renovation or major appliance upgrade
  • You’ve experienced breaker trips, flickering lights, or power inconsistencies
  • You want to ensure your home meets current electrical safety standards

For Massachusetts homeowners—especially in older homes—routine inspections are one of the best ways to prevent electrical hazards.

A plumber wearing gloves and a uniform works under a sink, tightening a pipe with a tool.

During the inspection, our goal is simply to help you understand the condition of your electrical system and identify potential concerns before they become bigger problems.

  • Clear explanation of what we’re seeing
If our technician notices something that could develop into a problem — such as overheating wiring, worn outlets, or signs of an overloaded circuit — we’ll explain exactly what we’re seeing and why it may need attention.
  • Honest recommendations without pressure
Our technicians are there to provide helpful guidance, not to pressure you into services. If something should be addressed, we’ll clearly explain the issue and answer any questions you may have.
  • You choose what happens next
If an electrical repair or upgrade is recommended, we’ll walk you through the available options and what the work would involve so you can decide what makes the most sense for your home.
  • No work is performed without your approval
Nothing is repaired, replaced, or scheduled unless you choose to move forward. The inspection simply provides professional insight into your home’s electrical system.
An electrician in uniform uses a drill and screwdriver to install an electrical outlet.

During the inspection, we’ll visually review the most common places electrical issues begin.

  • Electrical panel condition and breaker labeling
Your electrical panel is the central hub of your home’s electrical system. We’ll check the overall condition of the panel, verify breakers appear properly labeled, and look for any visible signs of wear or outdated components.
  • Signs of overheating or loose wiring in the panel
Loose connections or overheated wiring can create serious electrical risks. Our technician will visually inspect the panel area for signs such as discoloration, burning smells, or other indicators of heat or damage.
  • Outlets and switches for damage or wear
Over time, outlets and switches can loosen, crack, or stop functioning properly. We’ll check visible outlets and switches for signs of wear, damage, or improper installation.
  • GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and other required areas
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets help protect against electrical shock in areas where water is present. We’ll verify the presence of GFCI protection in common locations such as kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and exterior outlets.
  • Visible wiring in basements or mechanical rooms
Exposed wiring in basements or utility spaces can sometimes develop issues over time. We’ll check visible wiring runs for signs of deterioration, loose connections, or improper installation.
  • Exterior electrical connections and weather protection
Outdoor electrical components must be properly protected from the elements. Our technician will review exterior outlets, connections, and weatherproof covers where accessible.
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detector presence
We’ll confirm that smoke and carbon monoxide detectors appear to be present in appropriate areas of the home and discuss any recommendations if additional protection may be beneficial.
  • Signs of overloaded circuits or outdated components
Older homes or homes with newer appliances can sometimes place too much demand on existing electrical circuits. We’ll look for indicators that circuits may be overloaded or that certain components may be outdated.
  • If we see anything that looks concerning, we’ll explain exactly what we’re seeing and what your options are.
  • Many homeowners schedule this inspection because they want a simple and affordable way to better understand the condition of their home’s electrical system.
  • Catch potential electrical hazards early
Many electrical issues develop gradually over time. Identifying warning signs early can help prevent larger problems, electrical failures, or potential hazards in the future.
  • Make sure the electrical panel is operating properly
The electrical panel is responsible for safely distributing power throughout your home. This inspection helps confirm that everything appears to be functioning the way it should.
  • Check older outlets, switches, or wiring
In older homes especially, outlets and switches can wear down or wiring can become outdated. Having a professional check these components can help identify areas that may need attention.
  • Get peace of mind about your home’s electrical system
Sometimes the most valuable part of an inspection is simply knowing everything looks good. A professional evaluation can give homeowners confidence that their electrical system appears to be operating safely.
  • Have a professional take a look without committing to a large service visit
This inspection provides an affordable way to have a licensed technician review your electrical system without scheduling a major electrical service appointment.
  • And at $19.99, it’s one of the easiest ways to get a professional set of eyes on your electrical system.

Signs You May Need an Electrical Inspection

Not sure if it’s time? These warning signs shouldn’t be ignored:

  • Frequent circuit breaker trips
  • Burning smells or warm outlets
  • Flickering or dimming lights
  • Outdated or overloaded electrical panels
  • Two-prong outlets or lack of GFCI protection
  • Buzzing sounds from outlets or switches

If you’re noticing any of the above, an inspection can quickly identify the root cause and next steps.

What’s Included in Our Electrical Inspections

Our licensed electricians perform a detailed, whole-home evaluation, including:

  • Electrical panel and circuit breaker assessment
  • Wiring condition and code compliance check

  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detector review
  • Identification of overloaded circuits or fire risks

Your guys were here yesterday to upgrade the insulation in my home. They did a great job, left the place cleaner than they found it, and even saved me some attic floor space that I expected to lose!

Our experience working with Endless Energy was excellent from start to finish. They just installed two heat pumps in a non-profit conservation building in Plymouth. Our sales rep, Nate M., was knowledgeable, thoughtful and really listened to our questions. He responded quickly to email and voice mail. Our building is older and had some quirky additions. I had confidence that Nate's recommended equipment would meet our needs.

The installation team, led by Ethan J., was outstanding. Ethan had to remove an old oil burner that was full of soot - a messy, messy job. They did an excellent job removing the old and installing two new heat pumps - one for a main building and a smaller one for the addition. What impressed me was Endless Energy's depth of staffing - we had 3 installers, 2 electricians, 3 managers (install, QC, & service) on-site reviewing the work in progress.

Because of the soot from the old burner, the techs left footprints on some of the carpet before they put down dropcloths. The install manager saw them and told me Endless would arrange for carpet cleaning. I even received a call from the COO saying she was aware of the soiled carpet and would have someone contact me to set up a cleaning.

When the job was done, QC manager Jeff T. spent over an hour walking us through the operation and maintenance for each heat pump, including tips on how to run them most efficiently. We are thrilled with the new systems. I would recommend Endless Energy to anyone interested in upgrading to a heat pump. They really have their act together.
